The Farmers & Growers Initiative (FGI) aims to unite and empower members of the farming community across Scilly.
The initiative, relaunched in 2023 and funded by the Isles of Scilly National Landscape, is becoming an excellent platform for communication, collaboration, and knowledge exchange within the agri-environment sector.
Bringing together farmers and growers enables members to stay informed about industry developments and advancements, and share farming techniques used across Scilly, particularly in the interests of sustainability. The FGI also serves as a liaison between farmers and local stakeholders, as well as mainland organisations, ensuring effective communication channels and promoting opportunities such for potential funding applications. Through these collective efforts, the FGI aims to strengthen the agricultural community, promote sustainability, and drive positive change in the farming landscape.
